A.C. Coats, age 88, of Mesquite, Texas, passed away on October 6, 2026. He was born on July 25, 1938, in Florence, Alabama, to William and Flora (Stanford) Coats.

A.C. was a man who treasured the memories of his childhood and carried those special moments with him throughout his life. He was known for being someone people could count on, always willing to be there for his family, friends, and loved ones whenever they needed him. His caring heart and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. A.C. was a man of Baptist faith, and his faith was an important part of his life.

A.C. is survived by his sons, William "Bill" Coats and Laurie Coats of Belton, Texas; Denis Coats and Sharon Hunt of Quinlan, Texas; Donald Coats of Mesquite, Texas; his sister, Judy; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Wanda Coats; his daughter, Betty Colgroves; and his brothers, Leonard and Bill.

A.C. will be remembered for his loving heart, his devotion to those he cared about, and the many memories he created throughout his 88 years of life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
