Andrew "Andy" Thomas Babcock, age 79, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026. Andy was born on July 19, 1946, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, to Irene Malkowski and Clarence Babcock. Andy was a man whose kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Mechanically gifted, he had a natural talent for fixing just about anything and especially enjoyed working on cars. Whether he was under the hood or lending a hand to someone in need, Andy was happiest when he was putting his skills to good use. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. Laid-back, easygoing, and never one to ask for much, Andy found joy in life's simple pleasures and was easy to satisfy. He was an all-around good man whose quiet strength, dependable nature, and caring heart made him someone others could always count on. Andy is survived by his beloved daughter, April McClure and her husband, Brett, of Terrell, along with other extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irene and Clarence Babcock; his beloved wife, JoAnn Babcock; his brother, George Babcock; and his sister, Helen Brown. Andy will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his generous spirit, steady presence, and the countless lives he touched through simple acts of kindness. His legacy of compassion, humility, and hard work will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
