Anna Michele Miears is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the King of all kings, the One, who was with her from the laying of the foundations and will be forever. We will miss her because she was a fearless, defiant warrior for Christ, who never wavered or faltered in the face of a world that has been misled and deceived and would ridicule and demean the Truth. We will miss her because hers was a voice that could not be denied, an angelic song that rang out loudest when we needed to be lifted the most. We will miss her because there was a light that shone through her eyes, through her smile, and through her unwavering love for all of us that lit up the life of everyone she met. We will miss her because she was so full of life and joy – she grabbed every experience with both hands, set her face with a mischievous smile, and dove in, headfirst. She was an adventurer. She was a fighter. She was a comforter and a clown. She was beautiful, and she was ours. But we will celebrate because now she is with the One who loves her best, and most, and with a perfection that we could not begin to give her. We will celebrate because she has joined those of us who have gone before her and who loved her like we did and who were waiting for her all of this time and who are celebrating with her even now, her strong, beautiful, unwavering voice raised with theirs to praise and glorify the Jesus whose sacrifice gave her life meaning. And we will celebrate today and all days knowing that she will be waiting there for us, the Sword of the Spirit thrown over her shoulder and her smile – that little smile – spread across her lovely face, welcoming us to the only real home we will ever know.
