Benny Lynn Scoggins passed away on January 23, 2021 in Rockwall Texas. He was born on July 31, 1931 in Oak Ridge to Harvey Clifford Scoggins, Sr and Willie Edna Craig Scoggins. He grew up in Ladonia Texas and attended school at Bartley Woods and Ladonia, graduating in 1951. He was a proud Ladonia Rattler. He played football and basketball in school and continued to enjoy the sports throughout his many years. Visitation will be Thursday, January 28th, 2021 from 6 to 8pm at Lynch Funeral Home, Greenville, Tx. Graveside services will be Friday, January 29th at 2pm at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Ladonia, Tx He married Wanda June Eudy on August 10, 1951. They have been together for 70 plus years between dating and marriage. They would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in August 2021. Benny had a successful career with Aviall for 45 plus years. He and Wanda had also been in the dairy business for several years in Wolfe City. Benny was a member of the Quinlan Church of Christ. He was very faithful and served his church well. Always willing to do all duties called upon to do. He enjoyed the many church fellowships and game nights throughout his life. Benny loved to travel especially camping. His favorite place to go was Colorado and he wanted to make one more trip before God called him to Heaven. He and Wanda had traveled to 49 of the US states. In his early years, he enjoyed coaching his son's Little League games, hunting and fishing. Benny never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. Until just a few weeks ago he rode his bicycle 3 miles a day and walked in his pasture daily. Benny is survived by his wife, Wanda, sons Ricky and wife Donna, David and wife Donna, of Quinlan, and Danny and wife Debbie of Winnsboro, brothers Jimmy Scoggins of Greenville, and Jerry and wife Carol of Leonard, grandchildren, Jennifer Overstreet, Amy Stovall, Jason Scoggins, Dustin and Dane Scoggins, Danny Scoggins Jr., 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. And many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Harvey Scoggins, Jr and wife Mary Jo Scoggins and sister-in-law Dortheda Scoggins.
