Betty Jean Colgrove, 66, of Mesquite, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on February 3, 2026. She was a woman who found her greatest joy in the simple things: the comfort of her home, the company of her family, and a quiet afternoon watching her favorite episodes of 7th Heaven Born in Dallas on March 30, 1959, to A.C. Coats and Wanda Coats (Alton), Betty was a lifelong Texan with a gentle soul. She was a true homebody, preferring the peace of her own space and the warmth of her family over the bustle of the world. Family was the center of Betty's world. She shared a deep and lasting bond with her husband, Sammy, and the two were looking forward to celebrating 47 years of marriage this coming June 1st. She was a loving mother and grandmother who took immense pride in her children and the granddaughters who brought so much light to her life. Betty is survived by her husband, Sammy Colgrove Sr.; her son, Joshua Randell; her daughter, Madonna Turner and her partner Jonathan Stewart; and her cherished granddaughters, Sarah and Brianna Turner.
