Bobby Charles Hooten, age 80, of Point passed away surrounded by his family on July 28, 2022. He was born on December 30, 1941, to Louise (Whittle) Hooten and Monroe Hooten in Greenville, Texas. Bobby loved the Lord and lived his life as a devoted Christian man. He mowed the Point Church of Christ for several years along with keeping it cleaned. He had several hobbies which included racing cars and hunting quail, but as the years went on, he found that he loved fishing. When he wasn't working, you could find him with a pole in his hands. Most of all, Bobby will be remembered for his extreme love, passion, and dedication to family. To Bobby, family, church, and community were the most important aspects of his life. He believed these things are what you make it, and he poured his heart into each, being generous with all that he had. Bobby leaves lasting and wonderful memories for his family and friends. Bobby is survived by his wife of 62 years, Cleta; their son, Marty Hooten and his wife Tammy; sister, Glenda Reid Potts and her husband Randy; granddaughters, Jessica Brown, Devyn Dowdle and her husband, Brandon, Jordan Hooten; great grandchildren, Shelby Brown, Lincoln Brown; along with a host of loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his son, Don Hooten; parents; and brother-in-law, Mike Reid. The family will host a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at the Point Church of Christ on Saturday, August 6th 2022 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Point Church of Christ Higher Ground and Camp Deer Run.
