Carl William Hess passed away on January 14, 2021 in Greenville, Texas. He was born to Jeremiah and Ethel Hess on May 17, 1942 in South Waverly, PA. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronnie, sister Susan, and brother Jerry. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Dorothy Jean, siblings Jeff, Roseanne, Donna, and Cheryl, daughter Carol Sue Nellenson and husband Nick, daughter Cindy Walton and husband Sam, son Carl Hess Jr. and wife Lisa, son Steven Hess and wife Bronwen, and stepdaughter Deborah Perry and husband Mike, as well as numerous grandchildren. After serving his country in the U. S. Marines for 4 years, Carl worked in the insurance business and as a painter, and then began a long career in the trucking business. For 30 years he transported various types of heavy machinery and custom fabrications all over the United States as an owner/operator for C&H Transportation and Miller Transportation. Carl and Jean retired to Dixon Club Lake in 2003, where over the years he helped make many improvements to his community, also serving a stint as President of the owners association. Carl had numerous friends and associates in Greenville, and was always ready to work on projects of his own and assist others with their endeavors. In accordance with his request, Carl's ashes will be placed alongside the remains of his parents and siblings in the family plot at Glenwood Cemetery in Waverly, NY.
