Carol Johnson, a devoted mother, teacher, and faithful servant of God, passed away on October 1, 2024. She was born on December 24, 1941, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Maurice and Doris Whitehill. An avid reader with a deep passion for her faith, Carol was an active member of St. William Catholic Church, where she found joy in serving her community and sharing her love of God with others. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she dedicated herself to living out the values she cherished. Carol was also a beloved educator, teaching mathematics for many years at Richardson Independent School District. Her students adored her for her kindness, patience, and unwavering support, reflecting her deep commitment to nurturing young minds. In her leisure time, Carol enjoyed challenging her mind with puzzles like sudoku and jigsaw puzzles, which she approached with the same dedication she applied to her faith and teaching. Above all, Carol was a family-oriented person who loved deeply. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, imparting her wisdom and nurturing their spirits. She is survived by her loving children: Charles Johnson; Anita Sheridan and Norman "Zeke" Neal, Jr.; Alice Rosales and husband Amos; and John Johnson, Jr. and wife Krysti. Carol was a proud grandmother to Sarah, Karen, Alex, Michael, D.J., Hunter, Oliver, and Eleanor Grace, and she was blessed with great-grandchildren Christian, Hailey, Levi, Alexis, Adalynn, Payten, Kaydence, John Parker, and Emmylou. Carol is also survived by her brother, Don Whitehill and wife Terry, and her nephew, Jeff Whitehill and wife Jennifer, along with their children Whitney, Elly, Miles, and Merritt. She was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter Ruby, her brother Michael Whitehill, and her nephew Mark Whitehill, along with a host of loving extended family members and friends. The family will host a Memorial service on Friday, October 11, 2024, at St. William Catholic Church, at 12:00pm. The church address is 4300 Stuart Street, Greenville, Texas 75401. Carol Johnson will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love for her family, and her commitment to education. She touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
