Obituary

Cecilia Phyllis Armstrong, 89, of Caddo Mills, Texas, passed away on April 26, 2026. Born on November 7, 1936, to the late Antony and Aniela Ostapchuk, Ceil was a woman defined by her sharp mind, her work ethic, and her faith as a dedicated Christian. Ceil enjoyed a long and successful career as a Business Analyst for the Collins Radio Company. She remained a loyal and vital part of the team as the company evolved into Rockwell International and later Alcatel. Her professional journey was marked by the same steadiness and reliability that she brought to every area of her life. While Ceil traveled from coast to coast when visiting family and friends, she fully appreciated the communities where she lived in Michigan, Missouri, Texas, Mississippi, and finally back to Texas. At her core, Ceil was a servant to her community. Her leadership was most notably felt at F.I.S.H. Ministries of Greenville, TX, where she served as President. She was so effective in the role that the organization created a special exception to their term limits, allowing her to serve two terms. Even after her formal tenure ended, she continued to serve the ministry faithfully. Known for her immense humility, Ceil was the kind of person who would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need without a second thought. Cecilia is survived by her son, Samuel Morris; her daughter, Karla Vorel; and her grandson, Jakob Morris, along with a host of extended family and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. L. "Bill" Armstrong; her parents, Antony and Aniela Ostapchuk; and her two sisters, Virginia and Helen. Her legacy of quiet strength and selfless generosity will be long remembered by all who knew her. Rather than flowers, consider donations to F.I.S.H. Ministries (Hunt County Shared Ministries), Greenville, Texas. Visitation Saturday, May 2, 2026 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Lynch Funeral Home 2203 Gilmer Street Caddo Mills,TX 75135
