Chalmas Steven Davis, Jr., 78 of Caddo Mills, Texas, lovingly known to many family and friends as "Champ", passed away on March 19, 2023. He was born May 7, 1944 to Chalmas Steven, Sr. and Mary Margaret (Kimbrell) Davis in Fort Worth, Texas. Steve worked as a general manager for over fifty years in the automobile business. Throughout the 80's and 90's, Steve was known to many in the community for his work as a public address announcer and radio announcer for numerous local sporting events. Steve was a family man who deeply loved his family and cherished every moment spent with them. "Dad" or "Papaw" could always be counted on, to be actively involved, in any event that his children, grandchildren, or great grandchildren were active. He leaves lasting and wonderful memories for his family and friends. "Champ" and his wife Gwen, were rarely seen apart, and most often found spending time with their lifelong family companions, Don and Ann Holden. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Gwen Davis; children, Shanna Davis Brown and husband John, Chad Davis and fiancé Maddie; grandchildren, Savanna Petkosh and husband Paul, Carson Davis, Willow Davis; great grandchildren, Brooks Petkosh and Blake Petkosh; along with a host of loving relatives and friends. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, and grandson Tyler Davis Brown. Visitation will be held from 12:30pm to 2:00pm on Friday, March 24, 2023 at Lynch Funeral Home Chapel in Caddo Mills, Texas. A family graveside service will follow.
