Cheta
Hall
Jun 4, 1946 — Aug 3, 2022
Cheta Hall, age 76, passed away peacefully in her home in the presence of family on August 3rd, 2022. Born Charleta Faye Kolaczkowski to Charles and Nila Kolaczkowski in Greenville, Texas, on June 4th, 1946. Cheta was immersed into a loving and nurturing family life at an early age with her younger sister Midge. Cheta was baptized at Central Christian Church. Their father, Charlie, served as a florist for the Barlow Family's Florist in Greenville for many years until his untimely death in 1962. Cheta graduated from Greenville High School in 1964. Cheta was married to John David Boldt from 1965 - 1972 and their marriage produced two children; David and Clint Boldt. Cheta's career included over 20 years as Purchasing Director for Henson-Kickernick lingerie company of Greenville, Texas: a private, family-owned boutique lingerie manufacturer producing high-quality lingerie. Henson's exclusive clients included premium Dallas retailer Nieman Marcus and other luxury retailers among their business clients along with retail factory-outlets across North East Texas offering their product to value-minded consumers. Cheta loved working at Henson and going into her community each day. On January 1, 1984, a whispered prayer Cheta had shared among her peers at Church brought forward a phone number for Gerald L. Hall. Gerald courted Cheta; they fell in love together. Gerald and Cheta were united in Holy Matrimony on April 27, 1984, at Central Christian Church. Cheta stated to her sons through the remainder of her days that she believed Gerald was the answer to her prayers. Cheta's career continued with Henson and later American National Insurance Company. An auto accident in the year 2000 resulted in Cheta's medical physicians placing her on disability in the years that followed. Cheta remained active, through her grit and grace, sustaining family time, church, travel and traditions that she valued and continued to share daily. Cheta's lifelong focus of her energy was for her family, husband, children, grandchildren and her love for her church. Cheta gave her time and talents to Central Christian Church for the majority of her life, participating in church choir, youth leadership, Sunday School Teacher, Deaconess, providing leadership for Vacation Bible School and programs that help reach, nurture and guide youth to learn that Jesus loves them. Cheta loved sharing and teaching about God's LOVE and a grandmother's LOVE to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cheta and Gerald reached out beyond Central Christian Church to regularly attend as associate members of First United Methodist Church Royse City for five years; where they met David and his family to worship near their residence in Rowlett. Cheta again provided leadership for Vacation Bible School and JAMs at First UMC Royse City. When Cheta's health declined in 2016, she and Gerald started attending Wesley United Methodist Church in Greenville. Wesley UMC was close to home and they were reunited with many old friends there. Cheta loved Pastor Gene Wisdom and Pastor Chris Yost, the small group she played "Mexican Train" with two times a month when she was able, and she valued Kevin Banks delivering weekly communion and devotional to her home when Cheta and Gerald could no longer go out and had limited mobility. Cheta's greatest pride and joy were evident when she fulfilled her role as active grandma. Cheta asked to be called Nan and she would regularly proclaim that her grandchildren, "they are the best and keep me going." Spending time with family was priority and she loved taking photos of all family birthdays, holidays, vacations, and time together. Cheta and Gerald took the grandchildren on many trips often in their RV. She eagerly looked forward to Summer trips to visit Clint and family in Florida. In December, 2016, her first great grandbaby was born, Christopher David Cole, and a second, Alexander Chase Cole, in July 2022. Gerald and Cheta both stated the joy they felt as they witnessed the miracle of new life in our family. Cheta's final weeks were filled with the family bliss she valued so dearly. Cheta was best friends with her only sister Midge. They enjoyed each other and made all engagements meaningful and respectful for each other. Cheta and Midge would take trips together when health permitted. More recently they would play games and talk about the grand babies. They remained close throughout their entire life, a bond that was evident even in conversations during these final weeks. Cheta's sons want to acknowledge and give very special thanks to Brittani Cole and Chris Cole for their servant hearts, taking Cheta and Gerald to medical appointments, consultations and being key ingredients to Cheta and Gerald's comfort this past year. David and Clint also want to thank Vikki Shropshire and a team of nurturing caregivers coordinated by Vikki to provide 24 hour bedside support for both Cheta and Gerald Hall. Brittani, Chris and Vikki: your faithful compassion and humble bedside manner have been an essential ingredient to the comfort of our parents this year. We are eternally thankful for all that you 3 have contributed and carried for us. Thank you. Cheta was preceded in death by her mother and father Charles and Nila Kolasaczkowski, and her husband Gerald Lynn Hall. She is survived by her sister Midge Shropshire and husband Sam Bennett, son David Boldt and wife Kristi, son Clint Boldt and Billinda Boldt.
