Obituary

Cora Ann Robins was born in Mt. Ida, Arkansas, on March 13, 1931, to Claud and Cora Beth Robins.

On Tuesday morning, January 12, 2021, she went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was 89 years old.

Cora was an avid reader, and after graduating from Greenville High School, she pursued her passion for books to serve as a librarian with the Greenville Public Library. She went on to become a bookkeeper for the UAW Local 967, and later served as a teacher's aide for Commerce ISD. She worked as a group home leader for Hunt County Family Services and served countless families by keeping children in her home for over 15 years. Among her proudest accomplishments, she raised her niece, Jenny, from the age of 2 to age 66, as entrusted to her by her sister. Cora lived a life of service to her family and those around her. She cared for her aging parents through the ends of their lives. She loved animals, especially cats, and saw to it that none went without a loving home. Cora was a fabulous cook. Some of her specialties included buttermilk biscuits, Bavarian chocolate cake and the perfect ham sandwich. She loved gardening and bird watching. She could tell you the type of bird just by its song and knew her backyard birds by name. Cora was also a seamstress, and her work, whether it be shark costumes for Halloween or the sewing of a button, was the standard of perfection. She enjoyed spending time alone with God and her Bible.

Cora Ann was preceded in death by her parents Claud and Cora Beth Robins, her sister Eldie Poole and her brother Milton Franklin Robins. Cora is survived by her niece/daughter Jennifer Reeves and Jennifer's children Josh Reeves, Melissa Neargarder, and Chris Reeves and Jennifer's grandchildren Chloe, Wyatt, Lily, Josephine, Ryann, Gavin, and Sydney, her sisters Mattie Zimmerman and Cordeallia Wineinger, and her brother Tom Robins.

Cora lived her life in quiet obedience to God and His calling on her life.

If Cora could leave a final thought, she would say, "Live your life for others and follow John 15:13: Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
