Curtis Wayne Travis, age 63, passed away on February 17, 2025. He was born on August 29, 1961, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Billy and Oddie (Conville) Travis. Curtis was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend who lived life to the fullest. Curtis was passionate about woodworking, music, and the art of building speakers. He was a master-level chess player and enjoyed the challenge of pranking friends and family with his quick wit. His love for sports was evident through his coaching roles in football, volleyball, and boxing, where he inspired and mentored many athletes. He was also a bodybuilder and personal trainer. He was absolutely insane. He had a crazy sense of humor and was very passionate about everything he did. He had a very big heart under a very tough and rugged interior and would help anyone in need. Curtis was a man of incredible warmth and kindness, and his presence was felt deeply by everyone who knew him. He was particularly devoted to his role as a father and grandfather, cherishing his family above all else. He is survived by his sons: Brian Travis, Eric Travis and wife Michaella, and Brandon Travis; daughter, Anease Oakley and husband Jarred; sisters: Sherry Crumpton, Tammy Vaughan and husband Ricky, and Karen Robinson; grandchildren: Patrick Price, Logan Price, Tristan Price, Josiah Travis, Amber Travis, Isaiah Travis, Alexandria Travis, Kyle Travis, Kaden Oakley, Cheyenne Oakley, and Adaline Oakley; and nieces and nephews: Tiffany, Jonathon, Erin, Chase, Chris, and Daryl. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Oddie (Conville) Travis; his stepfather, Leroy Conville; and his brother, Billy Travis. Curtis's legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched with his generosity, passion, and love. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
