Obituary

Dale Eugene Gossett, age 80, of Greenville, Texas, passed away on October 31, 2026. He was born on August 13, 1946, in Greenville, Texas, to Joe and Beatrice (Old) Gossett.

Dale was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished friend. He was married to the love of his life, Brenda, for 57 wonderful years. Their life together was built on love, commitment, family, and the memories they created will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved him.

A faithful member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church for 44 years, Dale's faith was an important part of his life. A true outdoorsman at heart, Dale found great joy in spending time in nature. He especially loved bass fishing, deer hunting, bird watching, and bow hunting, and was an accomplished fisherman. He competed in numerous tournaments throughout the years, earning many victories along the way. Whether he was in the woods, on the water, or simply enjoying the beauty of the birds around him, Dale appreciated the outdoors and all it had to offer. He was also a loyal fan of the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys.

Above all, Dale treasured his family. He took great pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched and the generations of family who will continue to carry his memory forward.

Dale is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Brenda Gossett; his children, Sean Gossett and wife Robyn, and Audra Harrison and husband Buzz; his grandchildren, Devon McCasland and wife Kara, Dillon Gossett and wife Bethany, Dane Gossett and wife Vanessa, Jaeden Richards and wife Kaity, and Kason Richards; and his great-grandchildren, Layne, Coleson, Collins, and Lainey Gossett, Wade and Sage McCasland, Weston Gossett, Rowan Martin, and Violet Richards, who is on the way. He is also survived by his siblings, Wesley Old, Diane Wilson, and Lisa Fouse; along with numerous nieces and nephews and a host of extended family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Beatrice Gossett; and his brothers, Danny Gossett and Gordon Old.

Dale's grandsons will serve as his honorary pallbearers: Devon McCasland, Dillon Gossett, Dane Gossett, Jaeden Richards and Kason Richards.

Dale will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His love for his family, his passion for the outdoors, and the memories he leaves behind will remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to share in his life.
