It is with great sadness that the family of Diane murphy announces her passing on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, in Sherman, Texas. Diane passed peacefully surrounded by the dear friends who faithfully stood by her side until the very end. Born in Wolfe City on December 5, 1947 to Novell and Edgar Murphy, Jr., Diane was a lifelong resident of Greenville, Texas. A graduate of Greenville High School, Diane began her career with what is now L3Harris shortly after graduation. Between L3Harris, Raytheon, and E- Systems, she dedicated more than 40 years to the defense contractors. Throughout her career, she earned numerous awards and accolades in recognition of her hard work, commitment, and many contributions. She was the second of five children and was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings, and her son. She is survived by her brother, two grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many cherished friends who became her family. A longtime active member of VFW Post 4011, she found friendship and fellowship among its members. The relationships she cultivated there brought her companionship and support throughout the years and remained an important part of her life. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends who cared for, supported, and loved her during her final days. Your kindness, generosity, and steadfast friendship provided comfort to her and will be long remembered with gratitude.
