Donald Eugene McKee, 92, of Royse City, passed away on the evening of December 18, 2023. Donald was born on August 29, 1931, in Dallas to Maidie and Walter Warren McKee. Donald was known for his love and devotion to his Lord and Savior. He spent countless hours reading the bible and served as a deacon in his church. Donald enjoyed the country; he liked to fish and take care of his horses. He liked to play many games, but he had a soft spot for dominoes. Donald was a dad to many in the neighborhood, he ended up having an extended family of people who loved to call him "dad, papaw red, and great papaw". Donald is survived by his children: Cynthia Carter-Thomas, Carolyn Harrison-Neiger and husband Jim, and Scott McKee and wife Mollie; brother, Alex McKee and wife Glenda. Donald is also survived by several generations of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Donald is preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia B. McKee; daughter, Donna Boswell; and son-in-law, Mark Boswell. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 13, at 2:00 PM at Lynch Funeral Service in Greenville.
