Jackie "Jack" Dan Cowley, age 76, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026. He was born on August 23, 1950, in DeKalb, Texas, to Earnest and Helen (Tucker) Cowley. Jack was a man of deep Baptist faith and an incredible work ethic. He grew up in agriculture and carried that passion throughout his life, earning his bachelor's degree in agriculture. He loved his cattle and took great pride in the work that came with caring for them. Jack also enjoyed deer hunting and was an excellent barbeque cook, becoming well known for his delicious smoked brisket. He also enjoyed a good game of "42" and was the king of the table. Above all, Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His hardworking nature, talents, and love for his family and way of life will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Janice Cowley; his children, Jim Cowley and spouse Shelly, Clint Lane Cowley, and Cricket Cowley and spouse Kailey; grandchildren, Danielle Blackwell and spouse Saijon and Jackson Cowley; great-grandchildren, Monroe Blackwell and A.J. Blackwell; sibling, Brenda Pipes; nieces and nephews, Justin McCord and spouse Marla, Candice Jemenez and spouse Martin, Matthew Prince and spouse Jamie, Joshua Evans and spouse Jordan, Jessica Evans, Russell Pipes and spouse Erin, Amy Cornish, and Emily Newsome and spouse Chris; along with a host of loving extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Helen Cowley; niece, Jennifer Stovall; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Pipes. Jack leaves behind a legacy of hard work, faith, family, and countless memories that will be cherished by those who loved him. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
