James "Mitch" Mitchell High, 72, of Lancaster went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 27, 2022. He was born on November 14, 1950, in Haskell County, TX to John Hershal High and Jo Ann Walls. Mitch retired from the City of Dallas Water Department after many years of service. He was known to be a kind soul by his neighbors and spent much time feeding the neighborhood stray cats. Mitch carried a Bible with him wherever he went. He had many family members who loved him and thought of him often. He is survived by his daughter, Angela High; son, Mitch High, Jr.; brother, John Michael High; nieces: Katherine High, Bethany Clem, Stephany Wooten, Monica Reily, Wendy Coulter, Leslie Wooten; nephew, Wesley High; grandchildren: Isaac Reckart, Benjamin Reckart and Willow High. Mitch is preceded in death by his parents: John Hershal High and Jo Ann Walls; and sister, Patricia High. "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me.
