Obituary

James Michael Callahan went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 5, 2025 at the age of 61. He was born in Jack County Texas on September 3, 1963. He was the son of Henry Monroe Callahan, Jr. and Evelyn Janette Henderson who preceded him in death. He grew up in Garland, Texas where he graduated from Garland High School and went on to pursue his passion for art. After earning an Associates Degree in Fine Arts from Eastfield College, James continued his education at the University of Texas at Corpus Christie, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts. His love for creativity shaped his career as a artist, but he spent most of his professional life at Clay Cooley Chevrolet (formerly Young Chevrolet) of Dallas, where he formed lasting friendships and became an integral part of the team. While James had a deep appreciation for art, it was his family that meant the world to him. He treasured the time spent with family especially trips to Las Vegas that brought him so much joy. James loved his red Mustang 5.0 and his beloved cat, "Saber," who was always by his side. His warm personality and laughter will be missed by all who knew him. James is survived by a host of loving family members and dear friends including his aunt Laverne Myer and husband Dick of Carlsbad, New Mexico and uncle William Henderson and wife Anne of Royse City, TX and many, many cousins. He will be remembered for his kindness, his quirky sense of humor and the love he shared with his family and friends. A celebration of James' life will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the charity of your choice or the American Cancer Society.
