Jamie Jay Johnson, born September 7, 1961, in Dallas, Texas, to Donald L. Johnson and Lucianne Kazmierczak, passed away on September 13, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of laughter, friendship, and unforgettable memories. Jamie was a self-employed elevator engineer who took great pride in his work. Outside of work, he was known for his bigger-than-life personality and his wonderful sense of humor. A true ladies' man, Jamie had a natural charm and a way of making people feel welcome wherever he went. He was extremely sociable and outgoing, and it seemed he never met a stranger—only a friend he had not yet made. Jamie loved having a good time and enjoyed playing pool and riding jet skis. He had an adventurous spirit and a love for being around people. His stories, laughter, and larger-than-life presence made him someone who was hard to forget and impossible to replace. Jamie is survived by his children, Tiffany Wood and husband Gary, and Jamie Jay Johnson, Jr. and wife Maria; his sister, Kim Johnson Williams; grandchildren, Jeremiah Johnson and Kai Wood; and dear friends who were like family, John and Sally Stewart and Carolyn and Charles Walker. He also leaves behind his best four-legged friend, Pretty Boy Johnson, along with a host of extended family and friends who will cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald L. Johnson and Lucianne Kazmierczak. Jamie will be laid to rest beside his beloved mother at East Mount Cemetery, where he will remain close to family and those who meant so much to him. Jamie lived life with a big personality, an open heart, and a gift for making friends wherever he went. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
