Penson
Jul 1, 1944 — Feb 12, 2026
Janice Penson was born on July 1, 1944, and passed from this life to Heaven on February 12, 2026. While her health had been failing for a while, her sense of humor was very robust until her last days. She enjoyed watching the Dallas Mavericks and, sometimes, the Dallas Cowboys. Janice was born in Greenville, TX, the sixth child born of W.E. and IV Smithers Quattlebaum. The family moved to Cash, TX when Janice was a child and she attended Quinlan schools. During her life, she was among other things, a welder, a bookkeeper, an employee of Ford Motor Credit, and Raytheon. Her last job was at Wal-Mart; she retired finally and fully in 2013. Her most important work was raising her children and spending time with them. Janice is survived by her daughter, Carole Watson of Greenville, and her son, Eric Enzor, of Cumby. Her grandsons Taylor Enzor-Johnson of Rowlett and Chase Enzor of Ft Worth also survive. Her parents, sister Fannie Smith, and brothers W.E. "Bo" Quattlebaum, Jr., Bill Quattlebaum, Jake Quattlebaum, and Jim Quattlebaum, all preceded her in death. Her best "girlfriend" a tortoise shell cat named Reece also preceded her. Visitation will be Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Lynch Funeral Home on Hwy 34 S. Graveside service at Shady Grove Cemetery on Monday, February 16, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. Pallbearers are Kevin Quattlebaum, Jess Gomez, Roland Stokes, Darrell Nichols, Taylor Enzor-Johnson, and Chase Enzor. Special thanks to Family First Home Health and Family First Hospice who cared for our mother with kindness and love. Also, thanks to the Greenville Fire Department who made many trips over the last few years to provide lift assistance. And a final note of gratitude to Naudia with Cornerstone Caregiving who became a member of the family and was much loved by Janice.
