Obituary

Jerry Yvonne (Adcock) Burgett, 86, of Heath, TX, lived a life full of devotion, service, and love. Born on February 4, 1937 to Don and Madie Adcock in Heath, she spent her 86 years spreading joy and happiness wherever she went. A faithful member of Heath Church of Christ, Jerry lived her life as a shining example of her love for the Lord Jesus Christ. Her passion for her faith compelled many young people to attend church, and she dedicated her career as an accountant at Southwestern Bell. She was also a member of, and served as a judge for the Mineola Garden Club. In addition to her professional life, Jerry was a gifted artist and talented cook. Her family cookbook, which she authored, is treasured by her loved ones, especially during the holiday season. She was famous for her delectable Thanksgiving dressing, mouth-watering apple bread, and decadent chocolate pie. Her artistic talent extended to her writing, where she composed beautiful poems, particularly for her family, friends, and fellow church members. But most of all, Jerry cherished her family. She loved each member deeply and made sure to spend quality time with them, hosting family dinner gatherings and taking her nieces on shopping sprees. She made sure to keep in touch, sending special birthday cards and well wishes during illnesses.
