Obituary

Jesse B. Price, Jr., 100, beloved husband, Dad, Grandpa, Pops, and friend passed away March 15, 2023, at his home in Greenville, Texas, and woke up in the arms of his Savior. Jesse was born on January 20, 1923, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Jesse B. Price and Eula Weems Price. A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Wesley United Methodist Church, Greenville, Texas, with Pastor Chris Yost officiating. After graduating from high school, he joined the Army/Air Corps to help in World War II. Following his service to our country, he married the mother of his five children, Frances Smalley Price, who preceded him in death. His career as a machinist-tool and model maker allowed for Jesse and his family to live in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Montana, and Australia. After his retirement from Texas Instruments in Austin, he went to work for a retirement home at age 80 where he liked to tell everyone that "He drove the old folks around." After moving to Greenville, he was hired to work for Lowe's at age 84, and loved his job where he worked until he was 88. Jesse loved football and baseball. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and hunting buddies from the Christian Fellowship of Sportsmen. He loved country western dancing where he met his wife Linda and loved driving fast cars and motorcycles. He was often called "Mario Andretti"! Above all, he loved and shared Jesus with everyone. He is survived by his loving wife of almost forty years Linda; sons Steve (Eileen), David (Leonie), Tim, John (Vi), and daughter Christi Jones; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother William Price, one grandson and two great-grandsons. The family sincerely appreciates the loving care given to Jesse by Amanda, Amy, and Cori of VITAS Hospice.
