Joe Will Elliott, Jr., 80, of Greenville, Texas, passed away on June 18, 2026. Joe was born October 20, 1945 in Texarkana, Arkansas, to Sue and Joe Elliott, Sr. He was married to the love of his life, Martha Brown Elliott, for more than 50 years and together they enjoyed camping, spending time with close friends, and occasional trips to the casino. Joe worked for Kansas City Southern Railroad for over 30 years. He loved the outdoors enjoying camping and fishing. Hanging clothes on the line to dry was one of his peaceful pastimes. A great thing about Joe was that he never met a stranger. His friendly personality and kind heart made him a friend to many. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Burnette and son-in-law, Donald Burnette of Greenville; his grandsons: Clay Burnette of The Colony and Aaron Burnette of Greenville; along with many cousins, other family members, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Sue, and his wife, Martha. Joe will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 06/23/2026 at LYNCH Funeral Service Chapel in Greenville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville. Pallbearers: Larry Davis, Jim Woodfield, Bob Lavery, Larry Nation, Junior Reagan, Tommy Rowe. Honorary Pallbearers: Donald Burnette, Clay Burnette, Aaron Burnette, Bobby Sanders, and numerous KCS Railroad employees. The family extends heartfelt appreciation to Hunt Regional Hospital, especially the 7th Floor Rehabilitation staff, and Family First Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
