Jon Stephen Mitchell, age 73, of Greenville, Texas, passed away on October 31, 2026. He was born on November 1, 1952, in Carrizo Springs, Texas, to J.C. and Laura (Reagan) Mitchell.

Jon was a man who knew how to make life a little more fun. He had a personality that could light up a room and was often the life of the party. He had a deep love for music, especially playing his guitars, a passion he inherited from his parents, who were musicians themselves. Whether sharing a song, enjoying time with family and friends, or cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys, Jon found joy in the things he loved most. He was also a member of New Beginnings in Greenville, Texas.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of four years, Ruby Mitchell; his sons, Jeremy Mitchell and wife Sarah, and Jonathan Nathaniel "Nat" Mitchell; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his sister, Sue Corwin and husband Bill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Laura Mitchell.

Jon will be remembered for his fun-loving spirit, his love of music, and the laughter he brought to those around him. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the joy he shared will remain in the hearts of his family and friends for years to come.
