Jose "Chencho" Inocencio Herrera of Greenville, Texas passed away on January 7, 2023. He was born on August 17, 1982 to Inocencio Herrera and Maria Nohemi Chapa in Montemorelos, Mexico. Chencho loved the Lord and was a faithful member of St. Williams Catholic Church of Greenville, Texas. He was a third generation Chencho, which is where his love for music comes from. He was an accomplished musician. Instruments he mastered included but were not limited to the drums, and the bajo sexto. He boasted being featured in the Hunt County Cinco De Mayo celebrations. In addition to his coaching soccer, he was a huge Tigres UANL Soccer Afficiando. Most of all Chencho was a family man. He absolutely adored spending time with each family member, especially his children. He was very involved in each of their lives. He did everything from serve as soccer coach to taking them on trips to Mexico. He enjoyed spending time with his nephew to whom he hoped to continue passing on his knowledge and passion for music. Chencho leaves lasting and wonderful memories for his family and friends. Chencho is survived by spouse, Maria Segovia; son, David Herrera; daughter, Marbella Herrera; parents, Inocencio Herrera and Maria Nohemi Chapa Herrera; sisters, Perla Lopez (Edmundo); nephew, Sebastian; along with a host of loving relatives and friends. Chencho is preceded in death by grandfathers, Inocencio Herrera, and Jose Chapa; tios, Benito Herrera, Adrian Chapa, and Gamaliel Chapa A visitation will be from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Lynch Funeral Service in Greenville. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at St. Williams Catholic Church in Greenville, Texas. Interment will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Caddo Mills, Texas.
