Katherine Fitzgerald, 72, of Princeton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on August 30, 2024. She was born on July 14, 1952 in Des Moines, Iowa to Seth "Bill" and Josephine Masteller. Known for her beautiful smile and sweet spirit, Katherine was the kindest person anyone could know. She never had a bad thing to say about anyone, and no one ever had a bad thing to say about her. She was cherished as "Nana" by her grandchildren, whom she loved deeply. Kathy had a unique flair, always wearing stylish hats and shoes that reflected her joyful personality. She is survived by her husband, Raymond "Bear" Fitzgerald; her son, Patrick Fitzgerald and Krista McCllelan of Princeton; her daughters: Monica Chappell and husband Gary of Josephine, Crystal Sypert and husband Jeff of Wylie; sister, Patricia Kinsey of Johnston, Iowa. She was the proud grandmother of Joe Chappell and wife Bre of Charlotte, North Carolina, Jacob Fitzgerald of Wylie, Katherine Chappell of Josephine, Robin Fitzgerald of Champaign, Illinois, and Jazmyne Fitzgerald of Wylie; and great-grandmother to Joseph Chappell of North Carolina. Kathy also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Seth "Bill" and Josephine Masteller; her brother, Mike Masteller; and her sister, Sharon Patterson. Kathy will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, her gentle nature, and her love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Family to have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
