Obituary

Larry Allen Eastwood left this earth for his heavenly home on May 14, 2021. Larry was born on June 23, 1952, to Harold Eugene Eastwood and Roberta Jean Wells Eastwood in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He grew up in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, graduating from Broken Arrow High School as valedictorian in 1971. Larry then studied at Oklahoma State University, graduating in 1976 with a BSEE. After moving to Greenville, Texas, he earned an MBA from the University of Dallas. In 1976, Larry moved to Greenville to begin his career at E-Systems, Inc. as an Electrical Engineer. Larry was a dedicated employee who worked until his retirement from L-3 in 2012 after 36 years of service. In addition to work, Larry enjoyed traveling and snow skiing; but mostly, he liked to work with his hands. Larry was a jack of all trades. He could help you with your computer, work on your car or farm equipment, re-wire your house, build you a cabinet, or fix the plumbing. He derived great pleasure from helping others. He guided the sixth-grade science class at Greenville Christian School through the process of constructing and launching model rockets for the last 18 years. Larry was a long-time member of the Majors Gun Club, and also thoroughly enjoyed the last several years volunteering with the Greenville Golden K Kiwanis serving Meals on Wheels and building wheelchair ramps. Larry married Nancy Marlene Hooe on January 21, 1984, in Wolfe City, Texas. Larry was extremely proud of his only child, Andrew Wyatt Eastwood, and would tell you about him every chance he got. Larry leaves behind to miss him: wife, Nancy; son, Andrew (Celeste); brother, Randal Eastwood (Charissa); aunt, Norma Olvera (Fausto); sister-in-law, Cleva Giddens (Rex); brother-in-law, Dennis Hooe (Sharon); many adoring nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends. Larry was preceded in death by both his parents, several aunts and uncles, and his in-laws, Cleve and Joyce Hooe. An informal Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, May 22, at 11:00am in The Commons at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Greenville. (6801 Wesley St., Greenville) In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the "Larry Eastwood Memorial Scholarship" at Greenville Christian School, or the Greenville Golden K Kiwanis in Larry's name.
