LaVerne S. Christiansen, 79, of Caddo Mills passed away on Oct 1, 2021. She was born on September 28, 1942 to Thomas and Martha Standley in Dallas. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and loved by all who knew her. She will be dearly missed. LaVerne was a fantastic cook, and hosted countless Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners . She loved doing things for others, and was always quick with a witty remark. She retired from the Dallas County Sheriff's Department after a 26 year career and then spent her time gardening, reading , working crossword puzzles and playing computer solitaire. She loved watching The Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings movies, as well as NCIS. In between all of these things, she enjoyed going shopping and then to her favorite lunch spot-On The Border! The many she leaves behind include: Her husband Gary Christiansen, son LaRue LaCour, daughter Kara Lowder and her husband Tommy Lowder, daughter Holly Campos, son Vince Beaty, stepchildren Kim Rudd, Chris Christiansen, David Christiansen, and Amber Christiansen, granddaughters Krista Smith, Krissy McClure, Valarie Beaty, Cesley Beaty, Emiley Beaty, Haylie Campos, as well as many step-granchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her elder sister Doris Carlisle, nieces Jeanne Standley and Melissa Harmon, and nephews Stan and Samuel Carlisle.
