Lorie Lee
Strecker
Feb 4, 1951 — Sep 12, 2026
Lorie Lee Strecker, age 75, passed away at her home in Caddo Mills, Texas. Her legal date of death is recorded as September 12, 2026, when she was found during a well-care check, though it is suspected that she peacefully passed away sometime during the preceding couple of weeks, following a courageous battle with cirrhosis and liver cancer, Lorie finished her journey exactly as she lived it: entirely on her own terms. Lorie was born on February 4, 1951, in San Rafael, California, to the late George L. Clingempeel and Johanna V. Carson. An avid reader, Lorie found her greatest comfort and joy in the quiet company of a good book, curled up at home with her beloved cats. Though health challenges kept her closer to home in recent years, her independent spirit and quiet strength never wavered. Though she didn't often speak aloud about her deepest fe1elings, she kept a favorite quote close to her heart in many places that truly resonated with how she viewed the world: "Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So, love the people who treat you right, forgive the ones who don't and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get the chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it"....Dr. Suess She is survived by her daughter, Donna Miller, and her husband Jerry Miller of Parsons, Tennessee; her grandson, Jared C. Miller of Seattle, Washington; her granddaughter, Johanna A. Miller of Parsons, Tennessee. She also leaves behind her cherished great-granddaughters, Olivia A. Miller (daughter of Alexis Watzke and Jared Miller) and Emery Talbot (daughter of Alexis Watzke and Scott Talbot), both of Crossville, Tennessee; her brothers, Chris Jay of Seattle, Washington, and Larry Clingempeel of Las Vegas, Nevada; her sister, Linda L. McKenzie of Las Vegas, Nevada; her aunt, Vicky Gogas of Oregon; and several beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lorie was preceded in death by her parents and her deeply missed granddaughter, Josette Loree Miller. In keeping with Lorie's explicit wishes, she will be cremated, and no formal services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society in her memory.
