Obituary

Mary Barbara Dean, 89, of Caddo Mills, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2026. She was born on June 20, 1937, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Donald Parker and Verna Morrison.

Mary was a devoted mother and a loving wife who shared more than 50 years of marriage with the love of her life, Charles Dean. As a military wife, she had the opportunity to travel the world alongside her husband, creating memories and experiencing places that would remain special throughout her life.

Mary dedicated her life to caring for her family and was a devoted homemaker. She was the matriarch of her family—a steady, loving presence who brought everyone together and made sure those around her always felt loved. Although she had only one biological grandchild, Mary was affectionately known as Grandma to many, and she embraced each of them with the same love and care she gave her own family.

In her quieter moments, Mary enjoyed painting, watching tennis, and playing cards. She found joy in the simple comforts of home and, most of all, in the people she loved. Her warmth, devotion, and generous heart left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Carol Dean of Caddo Mills and Sharon LaRocca and Hans of Caddo Mills; sister-in-law, Susan Thurow; granddaughter, Paige Duyka and John; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Parker and Verna Morrison; her beloved husband, Charles Dean; and her brothers, Donald Parker, Jimmy Parker, and Gene Parker.

A small, private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date to honor and celebrate Mary's life.

Mary will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who knew her. Her legacy of love, devotion, and family will continue through the many lives she touched.
