Michael Lynn Sanders, 76, of Cumby, Texas passed away February 28, 2023. He was born to Ruel and Margaret (Johnston) Sanders on July 27, 1946 in Bend, Oregon. Mike was a member of the House of Prayer Church, and the Garland Emergency Corps. He also served in the US Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. Mike had a green thumb which encouraged his love of gardening, some even say he could plant a twig and it would sprout into a tree. He also enjoyed classic cars and airplanes. Most of all, Mike loved his family. His wife and kids meant the world to him. Mike is survived by his children; Michael "Rich" Richard Sanders and wife Tatiana, Jana Michelle Edwards and husband Cary and Jason Cory Sanders, sisters; Jeannie Mize of Caddo Mills and Patty Abla of Greenville, grandkids; John Edwards, Sarah Tarpley, William Sanders, Giorgio Sanders, great grandson Benjamin Tarpley, and many cousins, in-laws, nephews, nieces, and friends who all loved him dearly. Mike is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Janett Sanders; parents, Margaret Lena and Ruel Richard Sanders; and brother, Danny Sanders. A funeral service will be held Sunday, March 5, 2023, at Lynch Funeral Home in Caddo Mills starting at 3:00 PM. A visitation will take place an hour prior to the service.
