Morris "Glenn" Gayler, 89 of Greenville, Texas passed away on February 13, 2021. Glenn was born on July 14, 1931 to Barney Nixon, Sr. and Ruby Lynette (Summers) Gayler in Wylie, Texas. Glenn proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for 10 years. Later he worked as a Foreman for Carpenter Steel Technology until his retirement. During that time he also served as a Baptist Minister. All who know him, knew he loved the Lord and had a heart for people. Glenn was an avid outdoorsman who thoroughly enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and golfing. He loved wildlife and was especially fond of bird-watching. Most of all, Glenn was proud of and loved his family and the time he was able to spend time with them. In particular, he adored traveling with his late wife Jean in their travel trailer. Their favorite trips were the ones taken to Alaska. Glenn leaves lasting and wonderful memories for his family and friends. Glenn is survived by his daughters, Arliss Tredway, Carliss Stewart and her husband Jonathan, Sharon McNary and her husband Mickey; seven grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; sister, Jane Hughes and her husband L.J.; along with a host of loving relatives and friends. Glenn is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean Gayler; son, Mike Gayler; brother, Barney Gayler, Jr.; son-in-law, Wayne Tredway, and grandson, Brian Sanders. There will be a memorial service at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church located at 3103 Terrell Road, Greenville, Texas 75402.
