Oralia
Brown
Apr 20, 1952 — Sep 24, 2026
Oralia Brown, age 74, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 24, 2026. She was born on April 20, 1952, in Alice, Texas to Horacio D. and Emma (Gomez) Barrera. She was raised in Ben Bolt, Texas.
As a devoted follower of Jesus, Oralia had a passionate heart of worship. She was a part of the Transformation Church family in Quinlan, Texas. She was a loving wife, mom and Nana who cherished her family deeply. She was an amazing friend to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kind heart, warm smile, spunky personality, and genuine love for others left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path.
Oralia was a talented beautician and homemaker. She was also an incredible baker and cook inviting everyone into her home to share delicious meals with family and friends. She enjoyed planting flowers and gardening, sewing and crafting, and decorating her home and yard for each holiday. Christmas held such a special place in her heart. Homemade decorations lovingly made throughout the years would adorn her house and tree. Her powerful testimony of courage and love leaves a beautiful legacy, each person grateful for the life she let live and the love she gave. The one singular decision she made both defined her lineage and created a team of worshippers serving her King.
Oralia is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Eugene C. Brown III, "Buddy"; her daughter, Irene Hearn and husband LaMont of Quinlan; siblings Hermelinda B. Anderson, Juan "Johnny" Barrera, Susan B. Best, and Camila G. Barrera. She has four grandchildren, Christian Fielding and husband, Brandin, Katelyn Hare and husband Tyler, Cassidy Hearn and Joshua Hearn and six great-grandchildren, Elijah, Adyson, Ethan, Ellie, Emilia and Abigail. She has numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Horacio and Emma (Gomez) Barrera, and her brothers, Jose "Joe" Barrera and Guadalupe Barrera. Her beloved brother, Benjamin Barrera, joined her on the morning of September 28, 2026, shortly after her passing.
Oralia will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. Her love, laughter, friendship, creativity, and generous spirit will live on in the many lives touched and in the future generations she impacted.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Transformation Church in Quinlan, Texas with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville, Texas.
