Philip Winston
Rigsby
Nov 11, 1942 — Nov 24, 2020
In the evening of November 24, 2020 Philip "Phil" Winston Rigsby took the hand of God and walked with Him into the light. Phil was born on November 11, 1942 to William Mose Rigsby and Fairrell Mae Dicken in Van Alstyne, Texas. Phil grew up of the Christian faith and remained a God fearing man. He grew up on a farm in Van Alstyne along with seven brothers and sisters and was very active in high school sports, football being his favorite, also playing baseball in the summers. Phil's first priority was his family, even though his business R&R Feeds kept him on the go, he spent as much time with his family as he could. His two sons were involved in showing animals and Phil was always there. He was involved with the FFA and was one of the Founding Fathers of the Hunt County Fair, in charge of the Stock Show part of the fair, and served on the board, sponsoring many kids in the shows over the years. Phil developed a passion for making lamps out of Elk Horns and also carving lamps from wood, becoming proficient at it, and became a member of the Wood Carvers Club of Tawakoni. Those left to cherish memories of Phil are his loving life partner of 11 years, Wanda Stevens; son, Tommy Rigsby and his wife Stacy; three granddaughters, Marissa Rigsby, Chelsea McClary and her husband Michael, Amberly Parker and her husband Jordan; step granddaughter, Bethany Olsen; great granddaughter, Madelyn Grace McClary. He also leaves a younger brother, Johnny Rigsby; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Wanda also has two children, three grandchildren, and one great granddaughter that share her memories. There is a very special puppy "Rosa" that shares the loss of her "Daddy." Phil was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Sandra Kay, a stillborn daughter, his first born son, "Trampas" Rigsby and six of his brothers and sisters. Due to Covid-19 virus and concern for health of others, a "Celebration of Life" will be held at a later date. Pending Arrangements Wednesday, November 25, 2020
