Rena Jenkins, of Canton, Texas, passed away on April 10, 2026, at the age of 62. She was born on August 25, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, to J.W. Gumpert and Lucille Lucas. Rena was a member of Kingdom Church and was actively involved in church life, especially within the women's ministry, where she formed many close relationships and enjoyed serving alongside others. Outside of the church, she found great joy in sewing and embroidery, often creating special handmade items for her grandchildren, which they will always treasure. She is survived by her sons, D.J. Ivie and Michael Jenkins (Tracy); her daughters, Amber Matthews and Joy Davis (Jory); her brother, Chan Gumpert (Kay); her cherished grandchildren, Caleb, Mercy, Aubrey, Gracie, Gabby, John, and Gwendolyn; as well as many nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends. Rena is preceded in death by her parents, J.W. Gumpert and Lucille Lucas; and her siblings Ruby Del Grimaldo, Sheryl Verdoorn, Larry Gumpert, and Jerry Gumpert. Her memory will live on through the lives of her children, grandchildren, and all who knew and loved her. There will be a family led memorial on Saturday, April 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM, located at Kingdom Church in Canton, Texas. There will be refreshments provided.
