R J Peavey Jr was born on February 1, 1938 and left this world on December 16, 2021. RJ loved to work on cars until his back no longer allowed him to. Even then you could call him and describe your problem, he would give you a diagnosis and tell you what he thought would fix it. His favorite past time was listening to the police scanner. You would get a call from him if there was a wreck/activity in the area you were at, just to make sure you were not involved. RJ loved spending time with his family and telling his life stories. He cherished every moment he was able to do this. He treasured every phone call/text he received as well. RJ is survived by his wife Itaska; daughters Benita (Kelly) Hardin, Teresa (Todd) Prestien. Grandchildren Kasey (Jake) Schwartz; Tyler (Yajahira) Prestien and Tanner Prestien; great grandchildren Jobe, Blayke, Gunner, Gizelle. Step children and their families (who he loved as his own) Rick (Roxie) Doty, Sheila Doty and Donna (David) Scoggins. Which include 7 step grandchildren and 13 step great grandchildren and 2 step great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents RJ, Sr and Jewell Peavey and his 1st wife Pita. Graveside services will be Thursday, Dec 23 @ 11:00 am at the IOOF Cemetery in Caddo Mils, TX with Dane Scoggins officiating. There will be a public viewing for people to come and go/ sign the book on Wed, Dec 22 at Lynch Funeral Service in Greenville. Pallbearers will be Kasey Schwartz, Tyler and Tanner Prestien, Dalton Edge, Michael Tucker, Dustin Scoggins, Richard Doty, and Brad Flatt. The family would like to thank Amie with Family First Home Health and the care staff especially Hailey at Hunt Regional Medical Center for the extraordinary care that was given to him.
