Robert "Bob" Lee Lay, 70, of Greenville, Texas, passed away on June 20, 2026. He was born on May 22, 1956, in Midland to Roy Lee Lay and Verna Mae Lay. Bob was a proud cowboy at heart whose love for the western way of life never faded. He enjoyed spending his time watching classic John Wayne westerns and could often be found laughing along with his favorite old Looney Tunes cartoons. More than anything, Bob cherished his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose greatest joy came from the time he spent with those he loved. His steady presence, kind heart, and unwavering love for his family will be remembered and treasured by all who knew him. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Brenda Lay; his children: Autumn Williams and husband Jason, Bobby Lay and wife Chelsea, and Ashley Lay; his grandchildren: Jordan Thompson, Trystan Sanderson, Bentley Lay, and Connor Lay; his brothers: Bill Lay and David Lay and wife Cindy; his sister, Barbara Monroe; his nieces and nephews: Jessica Lay, Nicole Hughes, Bridget Boyd, Heath Lay, and Kyle Monroe; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Lee Lay and Verna Mae Lay. There will be a memorial at 11:00 am on Friday, July 10, 2026, at LYNCH Funeral Service Chapel.
