Rodney Don Stailey died peacefully at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville, TX on July 13, 2021, at the age of 47 years old. Rodney is survived by his wife Misty Stailey of 28 years. His sons Colby Stailey and William "Caleb" Stailey (finance' Joseline Cerda) of Greenville. He is preceded in death by parents, grandparents, and son Holden Stailey. Rodney was born on January 28, 1974, to Jerry Don Stailey and Edith "Marie" Stailey. He graduated from New Horizons Greenville, TX in 1993. He married Misty Samford on August 21, 1993. Rodney coached Hunt County Warriors, a Special Olympic basketball team for 10 years. He worked at Fritz Industries for three years until he became disabled. Even when Rodney did not feel his best, he always had time for his wife and children. His favorite thing to do was drive his Jeep and go fishing with his boys. Rodney was the type of man that when someone in his family needed a piece of good advice or a hand to lean on he was there to guide you. A lot of people thought that he was a good person to come talk to because he never tried to judge you he was there with open ears to hear someone out. He cared so much to anyone that was able to approach him and just had a simple conversion with him. Rodney didn't have much to give to all his family members or friends but I know that everyone that has met him and has a piece of his guidance knows that it was more than enough. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Hunt County Special Olympics. A funeral is scheduled for Saturday on July 17th of 2021 at 11 am, visitation will be at 10 am at Lynch Funeral Home located in Greenville, Tx 75402. Russell Rodgers will be officiating the ceremony. The family will like to thank Hunt Regional's registered nurses and care team that has taken care of Rodney in his last few days.
