In Loving Memory of Ronald Don Wooten

Ronald Don Wooten, 80, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2026. He was born on September 28, 1946, in Leonard, Texas, to Theola Beatrice Kizer and Garland Durwood Wooten.

Don married the love of his life, Marilyn, on February 13, 1982. Together, they built a life filled with love and raised their family in Celeste, Texas.

Don was known for his wonderful sense of humor, his willingness to lend a helping hand, and his tremendous love for his family. He was an active member of Honey Creek Baptist Church, where he loved singing old hymns and playing his guitar. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially being outdoors, fixing things, mowing, and riding his tractor. He also enjoyed relaxing and watching his favorite Western, Gunsmoke.

Affectionately known as "Papa Don" to his grandchildren and their friends, Don held a special place in the hearts of all who knew him. His family was his greatest joy and the most treasured part of his life. He will be remembered for the laughter he brought, the kindness he showed others, his love of music and faith, and the love he shared so freely with those around him.

Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilyn Wooten; his son, Jeff Wooten; and his daughter, Anne McDonald.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Heather Wooten; Carri and Trevor Minter; Cheryl and Felisha Johnson; Tzena Schumacher; Tammy Tucker; and Cliff and Michelle Wooten. He also leaves behind eighteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and his sister, Patsy Cousins, along with many other loving family members and friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Though he will be deeply missed, the love, laughter, faith, and memories Don leaves behind will live on through the many lives he touched.
