Rowena Joyce Rico, 88, of Quinlan, Texas, passed at home on the morning of February 4, 2024. Rowena was born on April 14, 1935, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Jewel Estelle and Charles Troy Upton. Ro was a true believer and proud to be a Christian. Ro loved to travel and hungered for adventure. She was very passionate in her love of flowers, with Amaryllis and Lilies being her favorites. In January 2003, Ro met Andrew R. Rico, and they married November 30, 2005, in Las Vegas, NV. Andrew admired Ro for her pleasant and caring attitude and personality. Andrew was known for saying he would smile every time Ro would walk into a room. Ro is survived by her husband, Andrew R. Rico; son Gary Mack Payne Sr; granddaughter, Jessica Alan Payne; great-grandchildren, Lavender German and River German; granddaughter, Cristi Ray Benoit. Ro is preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Roger Alan Payne. Funeral services will be held on February 13, 2024, at Lynch Funeral Service, in Greenville, TX, starting at 2:00 PM. Ro will be laid to rest at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, TX.
