Suzanne (Susie) E. Stapleton, age 75, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Friday, April 16, 2021. She was born March 25, 1946 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Frank E. and Stella Schmidtke. She married Gary Stapleton on Feb. 2, 1984. Susie is survived by her husband, Gary Stapleton of Greenville, Texas, along with a beautiful, blended family; her children Kari Williams and husband Greg of Plano, Texas and Julie White of Tyler, Texas; her bonus-children/step-children Jennifer Fannin and husband Chris of Lone Oak, Texas, Barry Stapleton and wife Keshia of Caddo Mills, Texas and Lisa Bishop and husband Doug of College Station. Susie left behind a very special puppy dog, Roxy, and her two special Mediterranean donkeys, Sadie and Sweet-Pea. She was loved and known by all, especially her eight grandchildren and her two great-grandchildren as Oma (Grandmother). She is also survived by her brother, Frank E. (Bud) Schmidtke of Michigan, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family members. She wass preceded in death by her father Frank Schmidtke, mother Stella Schmidtke, sisters Frances (Fran) Keegan and Barbara Jump. Susie made many lasting friendships from her years of working at Esco Manufacturing and 23-plus years at L-3 Communications to her very active lifestyle at Lake Fork. Being a born again Christian, and a person of very deep faith, Susie's favorite time of the year was Christmas. She loved to have all of the family together to celebrate Jesus's birthday. She loved her family and cherished every moment she could spend with them. A Memorial Service is scheduled on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Lynch Funeral Service in Greenville, Texas. Pastor Benny Chaffin will officiate the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Susie's life.
