Obituary

Thomas Richard Crowther, lovingly known to family and friends as "Tex," passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, at the age of 82. Tex was born on December 23, 1943, in California to Eula Mae Ellis and Kenneth Jewell Crowther. Throughout his life, he was known for his strong work ethic, spending many years working in the construction industry. He took great pride in building things with his hands, a trait that carried over into the care he gave his home and family. Tex had a wonderful sense of humor that could brighten any room. His twinkling eyes and the sweetest little smile were unmistakable and reflected the kindness and joy he carried throughout his life. He found great happiness working in his yard, tending to his plants, and watching everything he nurtured grow. He was also an avid NASCAR fan, never missing an opportunity to cheer on his favorite drivers, Dale Earnhart, Sr. and Kyle Larson. Above all else, Tex was a devoted family man. His greatest joy came from spending time with his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or simply enjoying each other's company, he treasured every moment with those he loved. His family will forever remember his gentle spirit, unwavering love, and the countless memories he helped create. Tex is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Ruby V. Crowther; his children, Thomas E. Crowther and wife Tanza, Sherry Crowther, Kenneth Clifford Crowther, Richard D. Crowther, Cyndi Salerno and husband Nick, John Henry Crowther and wife Rebecca, and Lisa Burkett. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Kellie, Thomas, Laura, Michael, Siera, Nicholas, Mia, Dallas, Sally, Hailie, Kailie, Charles, Ben, Fred, Sarah, Clayton, Heather, and Matthew; several great-grandchildren; his brothers, Butch Crowther and wife Faye, Fred Crowther, and Dan Crowther; his sister, Georgianna; and a host of extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly. Tex's legacy of laughter, love, hard work, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in the many wonderful memories they shared and the lasting impact he made on each of their lives.
