Thomas William "Tommy" Griggs, Jr., born December 6, 1942, in Greenville, Texas, to Thomas William Griggs, Sr. and Lorene (Byrd) Griggs, passed away on May 13, 2026. Tommy was a true cowboy at heart. Ranching wasn't just his work — it was his lifelong passion. He loved his cows, the land, and the rhythm of ranch life. Anyone who spent time with him knew he was a gifted storyteller, always ready with a tale that grew a little bigger every time he told it, even when the story was already true. He is survived by his nephew Todd Griggs and Todd's children: Katy Griggs and her partner Tyler Shields, and Colten Griggs; as well as Colten's wife, Lisa, and their daughters Adeline and Penelope. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Joe Griggs; and his nephew, Chad Griggs. Tommy will be remembered for his humor, his stories, his love of ranching, and the unmistakable cowboy spirit he carried with him every day of his life.
