Virginia Ruth Glenday, age 81, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026. Born on October 12, 1944, in Altus, Oklahoma, Virginia was the beloved daughter of Willie A. Stayton and Mary Ruth Williams. She lived a life devoted to caring for others, both in her career and within her family. Virginia worked as an Activities Director and was employed by HMHD, where she found joy in enriching the lives of those she served. She had a kind and compassionate spirit that naturally drew people to her, and she took pride in making others feel valued and cared for. Outside of work, Virginia found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time bird watching and never missed the opportunity to cheer on her beloved Dallas Cowboys from the comfort of her favorite chair. More than anything, she treasured the time spent with her family, who were the center of her world. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Jenny Christopher and husband, Mark, of Caddo Mills; Mike Glenday and wife, Sheryl, of Union Valley; Christie Sandlin and husband, Nate, of Greenville; and her siblings: David Stayton and Karen Dinkel. She also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory. Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Glenday; her children, Callie Wood and Billy Glenday; her parents; her brothers, Edward Stayton, Jerry Stayton, Coy Stayton; and her longtime companion Danny Reed. A memorial service to celebrate Virginia's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Lynch Funeral Chapel. Though she will be deeply missed, Virginia's legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
