Obituary

Wesley Crossland, known to all as Calvin, passed away on December 14, 2025, in Leonard, Texas, at the age of 72. Calvin was born on September 11, 1953, in Dallas, Texas, to W.C. Crossland and Gladys Lucille Boykin Crossland. He built a life rooted in hard work, faith, family, and a deep love for the land and animals around him. For many years, Calvin worked as an HVAC technician and in sales, where he was known for his skill, dedication, and strong work ethic. He was a faithful member of Cross Trails Cowboy Church, where his faith and fellowship were an important part of his life. Calvin had a passion for the outdoors and was happiest with a firearm in his hands or out in the field. He loved shooting guns and proudly referred to himself as a "master shooter"—a title he truly earned. An avid hunter and devoted animal lover, Calvin especially cherished the animals on his family's acreage, where he spent countless hours enjoying their company and the peace of the land. He was also deeply devoted to his two beloved dogs, Journey, a German Pointer, and Buddy, a Shih Tzu, who were constant companions. Above all else, Calvin was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Susan Crossland; his children, Micah Crossland and his partner Jaime Lynn Calfy, and Nicole Clark and her husband Charles Rooney. He was a proud grandfather to McKenzie Stephens and husband J.R., Avery Crossland and husband Kameron Rogers, Robert Clark and wife Nivce, Dalton Clark and wife Sandra, and Sydney Clark. He was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Kinsley, Conner, Waylon, Wrenley, and Jesse. Calvin is also survived by extended family in Ohio: Clark Pattison and wife Jill, Mark Pattison and wife Kathy, and Roger Pattison and wife Nancy, along with many other loved family members and friends. Calvin will be remembered for his strong faith, his love of the outdoors, his loyalty to those he loved, and the steady presence he provided to all who were fortunate enough to know him. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Cross Trails Cowboy Church located in Fairley.
